Responsibilities

  • The Director of Tourism & Events has the overall responsibility to market and effectively promote the City of Glens Falls for general consumer tourism, conventions/meetings and group tours, etc.
  • To increase awareness of Glens Falls as a destination 
  • Is responsible for working with and assisting downtown businesses in marketing, advertising , special events, communications and public relations
  • Maintains a working relationship with Warren County and New York State tourism agencies and their affiliates including Warren County Tourism, Lake George Chamber of Commerce and the Glens Falls Business Improvement District
  •  The Director of Tourism is also responsible for maintaining working relationships with regional hotels, resorts, museums, accommodations and tourism attractions
  •  The Director works with the Mayor, the downtown events committee, the Business Improvement District and downtown businesses on projects, goals, events, marketing, advertising, communication and publications.
