Recreation Department
The City of Glens Falls Recreation Department is located at 42 Ridge Street, on the second floor of City Hall adjacent to the Mayor's Office.

Haviland’s Cove Beach will be closed Wednesday and Thursday, August 26 and 27. The beach will reopen Friday, August 28 and be open through the weekend. The beach will be closed again Monday through Friday, August 31 through Sept. 4 and reopen for the weekend, Sept. 5 and 6. Sunday, Sept. 6 will be the last day the beach will be open this year.

These schedule changes are the result of staffing shortages brought about by the start of the college year for many lifeguards and the start of high school sports for others, resulting in an insufficient number of lifeguards being available to staff the beach.

Swimming is prohibited at the beach when there are no lifeguards on duty and park patrons should refrain from swimming during the times the beach is closed – both for their own safety and the safety of other patrons.
