Operation
The grounds are open from dawn until dusk all year, weather permitting. Please help us keep the cemetery a safe, orderly, and respectful place by following these guidelines. While visiting, please:
  • Avoid areas of funerals in progress
  • Do not bicycle, skate, or rollerblade
  • Do not hesitate to voice concerns or questions
  • Do not loiter or sit on grave sites
  • Do not run, shout, or litter, including cigarettes
  • Do not sit or lean on monuments
  • Feel free to ask for assistance at the office
  • Keep children 14 years old and younger with an adult
  • Walk on roads as much as possible

Prohibited Items
Due to the maintenance difficulty and the potential hazards to workers they cause, the following items are not permitted for decorating graves:
  • Any wire objects
  • Flower cones
  • Glass cases or jars
  • In ground flowers or bushes
  • Plant hangers
  • Small plastic flowerpots
  • Wooden crosses
  • Wreaths (except for Christmas, December through March)

Prohibited items will be removed. Bushes or trees may be planted on large lots or pathways with the permission of the cemetery office. All marker and monument work must be approved for size and location by the office. Flowers must be in an urn. One urn per grave is allowed and flowers may be real or artificial. When visiting, keep cars on roadways and no pets. Your cooperation is appreciated and will help keep the cemetery a safe and orderly place.

Special Events
Each September the Glens Falls Cemetery, along with the Chapman Museum, and the Glens Falls Community Theatre hosts the Glens Falls Cemetery Tour. For more information check the public programs on the Chapman Museum Website.
