Responsibilities
My staff and I practice an "open door" policy and welcome you! We are available to assist you with assessment policies and procedures governed by New York State Real Property Law. Our office has many responsibilities, including but not limited to, determining and maintaining assessments, inventory records, ownership interest, and processing exemptions.

Key Dates of the Assessment Process
March 1st:
Taxable Status Date (the date in which property is valued accordingly to "what the property consists of" and ownership of the property.)
NYS Exemption Filing Deadline - the last day for submittal of all exemption applications for the upcoming roll.
May 1st:
Tentative Assessment Roll - is filed and certified
May 23rd (4 p.m. - 8 p.m.):
Grievance Day : 2023 (Will be the held the fourth Tuesday of May)
July 1st:
Final Assessment Roll - is filed and certified
