Assessment

We are available to assist you with assessment policies and procedures governed by New York State Real Property Law.

Building & Codes

We issue building permits, conduct code inspections, and coordinate meetings of the Planning Board and Zoning Board of Appeals.

Cemetery

The grounds are open from dawn until dusk all year, weather permitting.

City Clerk

We are the public information center for the City. The City Clerk’s Office assists the taxpayers and residents of the City by providing a variety of diverse services. From board and commission meetings to vital statistics, permits and licenses, and processing parking tickets.

City Historian

I maintain archival records of the City and receives donations relating to the City’s History to be added to the archives.

Community Development

We offer housing rehabilitation grants for low to moderate income families and sponsors a first time homebuyer program.

Controller's Office / Tax Collector

We are primarily responsible for collecting City taxes, but has many other responsibilities.

We are committed to providing the highest-level of public safety to the residents and visitors of the City of Glens Falls. We are dedicated to the protection of life, property and the environment through fire suppression, rescue, emergency medical service, hazardous materials response and disaster management; to prevent fires and protect life through fire prevention and education.

Human Resources Department

I oversee and direct the development and implementation of organization-wide policies and programs encompassing all aspects of human resource management, including labor relations, employee benefits, compensation, employee training, organizational development, safety, hiring, on-boarding and all Federal and State labor-employment law compliance.

Police Department

We handle accidents, any citizen complaint, crimes, death, drug traffic offenders and investigations.

Public Works

We are responsible for maintenance of all City-owned buildings and grounds, maintenance of all City-owned parks, recreation facilities, and green areas within the street, right of way work permits, road maintenance, sidewalk construction, sign and street line painting, snow and ice control, snow dump permits, street cleaning, street lighting, traffic control lights, and yard waste collection.

Purchasing

I am in charge of bids and payables as well as providing the office supplies for City Hall.

We operate and maintain the Water Filtration Plant, the reservoirs, distribution system, maintain the Waste Water Treatment Plant and the sewer system including sanitary, combines and storm sewers.
